Ray Richardson

Ray Richardson was born in London in 1964.

He studied at St. Martins School of Art (1983-84) and Goldsmiths College of Art (1984-87).

He continues to live and work in London.

His hand-made screenprints, etchings and lithographs comment on certain aspects of British culture such as football and pub life. He is also inspired by the 1950's, 'B' Movies and bull terriers. His prints are highly sought after and his artistic career has been impressive.

He has received numerous awards including two British Council Awards (1989 and 1999) and the BP Portrait Award (1990). Commissions include Lennox Lewis for the Telegraph Magazine and a broze sculpture for the Sir Matt Busby Sports Complex.

His work is featured in Numerous private and public collections world-wide including those of the National Portrait Gallery, London and the Tama Art University, Tokyo.
